JJ PAPERIE & CO FOUNDER 

Hello! I'm Johana, founder, creative designer, calligrapher & engraver behind all things JJ Paperie & Co. JJ Paperie & Co is a stationery & home goods brand along with a calligraphy & engraving studio. What originally started out in my spare room in my old Hoboken apartment as a calligraphy business back in January 2020 has grown to a multi-faceted business that encompasses my love for stationery, home decor + textiles, calligraphy and much more. 

JJ Paperie & Co is dedicated to continue to design beautiful, purposeful and intentional hand-illustrated designs for the stationery + home interiors lover while also providing memorable gifts and experiences. A believer that the environment we surround ourselves in reflects how we feel throughout the day, my goal is to create products that provide you a sense of comfort, peace and motivation. I'm so happy you took the time to read this. The process

Each design begins with a loose idea in my mind that I quickly jot down in my notebook or anywhere before it slips away. From there, I move my ideas into a notebook and begin with simple sketches, more ideas and notes. Eventually these ideas, move to paper and paint where loose elements and motifs come to life and made into a playful patterns and design for a final product.

The inspiration

Much of my inspiration comes from my real life. Whether a recent trip to the mountains of the Catskills, the spring blooms in my garden or a life milestone, my work is deeply inspired by my life and surroundings.

Slow & intentional

Our products are intentionally and thoughtfully made in small batches to assist in minimal waste. Each product we bring to life is intended to be purposeful and useful in your daily life and bring you peace, calm and joy. We hope you love what we bring to you.
